Peace I Leave With You, My Peace I Give to You

Scripture: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

Prayer: Lord we thank You for the peace that You have given to us through Your promises and through Your sacrifices for us. It is a gift that only You are able to give, a generous gift that can never be replicated. Amen

Application: Jesus tells us that we should not let our hearts be troubled or afraid, but that our mind, body, soul and spirit can find peace in Him. May we face our days with confidence, knowing that Christ Jesus has saved us.

Have you paused today to rest in His calming and peaceful presence?

Stay Awake At All Times, Praying…

Scripture: But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man. Luke 21:36

Prayer: Lord, we praise You and thank You for wisdom and leadership. May we take this time to patiently wait and watch for You. Staying alert and praying without ceasing. Amen.

Application: No matter what circumstances or short-term troubles we have, we know that the Lord is greater, we know how the story ends. He can lead us in any situation.

In what ways are you staying spiritually alert, in tune with His Holy Spirit?

For what great nation is there that has a god so near

Scripture: For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? Deuteronomy 4:7

Prayer: Lord, we thank you and give you praise for watching over us and keeping us near to You, though we stray and sin against You. Great is your faithfulness, mercy and grace. Amen

Application: In this passage, Moses is instructing the people of Israel to keep the commandments of the Lord. That other nations would see the glory of God and His mighty works as well as the faithfulness of His people.

Are we as a nation of Christian believers willing to follow the example set for us by Jesus so that others may witness our faithfulness to the Lord our God?

For He Sees that Even the Wise Die

Scripture: For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others. Psalms 49:10

Prayer: Lord, we accept that our physical bodies will inevitably perish, that our material possessions will be left behind. We thank you for granting us eternal life, and pray that we will value the treasure of Your Kingdom over this world. Amen

Application: Society attempts to convince us that “You Only Live Once”, which justifies selfish behavior and indulgence in temptation.

Are you beginning with the end in mind? Remember that even the wise and wealthy do not defeat death, it is only through the sacrifice of Jesus that we may live.

The Lord Redeems the Life of His Servants

Scripture: The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. Psalms 34:22

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for Your redeeming nature and power. May we take pride in being a servant to You and to our fellow man. You are our refuge. Amen

Application: The Lord promises us redemption if we serve Him and only Him. That He will be our refuge, our shelter from the storm.

Do you accept that servant is the greatest title we could ever carry in the eyes of the Lord?

Seek Me With All Your Heart

Scripture: You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for allowing us to dwell in the presence of Your Spirit. May we give you our whole heart, pure and true. Amen

Application: God promises that we will find Him if we seek Him with our whole heart. It is amazing how God can instantly transform the ordinary into the extraordinary when we intentionally seek him.

Which piece of your heart is keeping you from experiencing the promises of our Lord?

An Inheritance To His Children’s Children

Scripture: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous. Proverbs 13:22

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for the vast inheritance you have left for us from generation to generation. May we be good stewards of your favor, passing your teachings to future generations. Amen

Application: When we think about inheritance, we may think of money or possessions, but the Lord has left us the greatest inheritance of all through the blood of Christ.

How are you sharing the love, knowledge and wisdom of our Lord with future generations?

“No One Sees Me”

Scripture: You felt secure in your wickedness, you said, “No one sees me”; your wisdom and your knowledge led you astray, and you said in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me.” – Isaiah 47:10

Prayer: Lord, thank you for seeing us, knowing us fully, and still loving and pursuing us. We are forever grateful for your love, forgiveness and mercy. Amen

Application: Our true self comes out when we think nobody is watching, but God knows us fully, our every thought, and loves us deeply.

How are you working to align your heart, your thoughts and your actions with the Lord?

He Is Faithful & Just

Scripture: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Prayer: Lord, we praise You for Your righteousness, Your mercy and forgiveness. May we have the courage to place our sin at Your feet and trust that Your love is greater than our sin. Amen

Application: The enemy is hopeful that the weight of our sin will cause us to withdraw from our relationship with the Lord. He uses our guilt and shame to build barriers.

Are we willing to shine the light on our sin, trusting that Jesus is able to cleanse us from our unrighteousness?

Slow to Anger

Scripture: Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. Proverbs 16:32

Prayer: Lord, let our confidence rest entirely in You. May we be in control of our anger and ruler of our spirit because we trust in You completely. Amen

Application: When we lose control of our emotions, becoming frustrated and angry, we are, in a way, expressing lack of trust in God. If we truly believe that His plan is greater than ours, then we should not be troubled by temporary trials and tribulations.

Are you attempting to control external circumstances rather than guarding your heart and keeping your peace? What are you communicating to God by doubting Him?
